Kookerburra Cakes

Looking back I've always had a strong interest in cake decorating. As a child I have fond memories of decorating fairy cakes with 'toothpaste' coloured icing, as my Mum would say !.

Only more recently, since the birth of my own children, have I pursued this interest. Initially more as a hobby, I attended an evening college course tutored by a lady called Pat, to whom I owe a great deal as she instilled traditional values that have served as a strong foundation.

Interest in my cakes grew as I would make them for family and friend's children, with my first Wedding Cake being for my Brother.  All of my friends were telling me that I should make more of a business of it and, although I still view my cakes as a hobby, it is progressing into a career as well.

Should you want me to craft a cake for you, I operate on a very informal basis and can work with most ideas. You can choose from cakes I have already designed or alternatively provide me with your ideas and we can work together on something new.  I pride my self on the personal touch that all cakes receive and the individuality that can be created.

I never over-commit on orders  as I like to devote time and attention over each individual cake and enjoy it - not to mention fitting in my 3 children (aged 8, 6 and 2) whom I should mention have their choice of Birthday cake lined up for me for the next 10 years !!. 

If you decide you would like me to craft your cake but aren't too sure of the design, please be sure to let me know in advance - although you may not be sure of what you need, at least I can enter your required dates into my diary. I tend to get booked up quickly and restrict myself to only a few cakes a week.  Calling me in advance will eliminate any disappointment (we can finalise details nearer the time).
